A breast cancer diagnosis changes everything in an instant. Suddenly, life is filled with appointments, treatments, uncertainty, and emotions that can be difficult to put into words. During that time, even a small act of kindness can remind someone they are not facing the journey alone.
At Boxes of Hope, we provide thoughtfully assembled care packages and handcrafted heart-shaped mastectomy pillows to women currently undergoing active breast cancer treatment. Every package is filled with practical items, comforting gifts, and words of encouragement chosen to bring hope during one of life’s most challenging seasons.
Every Box is Unique
The contents vary depending on the generous donations we receive from individuals, churches, businesses, and community organizations. While every package is thoughtfully assembled, each one is filled with comfort items, practical necessities, and encouragement chosen with love.
Packed by People Who Care
Every care package is packed by volunteers who want to make a difference. Sometimes it’s members of a local service organization like the Rotary Club. Other times it’s employees from a local business who have set aside a day to give back to their community. We’ve even had students from a Christian school gather together to pack boxes filled with encouragement and hope.
Every volunteer creates something special. Together, they carefully pack each box knowing it will be opened by a woman facing one of the hardest seasons of her life.
When a woman receives a Boxes of Hope care package, she’s receiving more than thoughtfully chosen items—she’s experiencing the kindness of an entire community that came together just for her.
Handmade with Love
Every heart-shaped mastectomy pillow is lovingly handcrafted by a wonderful group of volunteers—many of them retired women who simply love to sew.
They often joke that volunteering with Boxes of Hope gives them the perfect excuse to buy more fabric. But what truly brings them back is knowing that every stitch is sewn with love for a woman facing breast cancer. What begins as colorful fabric becomes a gift of comfort, encouragement, and hope.
Each pillow is more than handmade—it’s heart-made.
